WOMEN'S HEALTH

Women undergo significant hormonal changes throughout life. From puberty to menopause, fluctuations in hormone levels can lead to a range of conditions, affecting everything from mood and energy to reproductive health. I use hormone replacement and natural therapies to support your well-being at every stage of life, helping you maintain balance and vitality.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

PCOS is a common hormonal disorder characterized by excess androgens, like testosterone, though can also result in imbalances in other hormones like estrogen and insulin. This condition leads to symptoms such as irregular periods, acne, abnormal hair growth and weight gain. My approach to PCOS focuses on regulating periods and balancing hormones, usually with the use of nutrition, lifestyle, herbs and bioidentical hormones.

Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)

PMS can include a range of symptoms, including mood swings, bloating, diarrhea, migraines, dysmenorrhea (painful periods) and fatigue. Hormone imbalances often play a role in the severity of PMS symptoms. While PMS is common, it does not need to be normalized! Using a combination of nutrition, herbal and bioidentical hormone therapy, I work to reduce or eliminate PMS symptoms.

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)

PMDD is a severe form of PMS characterized by intense mood swings, irritability, and depression. Again, hormone imbalances are often at the root of PMDD, though neurotransmitter imbalances can contribute as well. While I strive to employ natural therapies like herbs and bioidentical hormones, I also recognize the value in antidepressant therapy for severe cases, so that we can prioritize improved quality of life.

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a condition in which uterine-like tissue grows outside the uterus, causing pain, heavy periods, and infertility. Diagnosis of the condition is often delayed, as it requires laparoscopy, or surgery. While the exact cause is unknown, genetics and estrogen dominance are typically involved. My approach to endometriosis includes reducing inflammation and balancing estrogen through a combination of dietary adjustments, natural therapies, and lifestyle changes to alleviate symptoms and improve overall well-being.

Fibroids

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths in the uterus that can lead to heavy bleeding, pain, and reproductive issues. Estrogen dominance and chronic, severe stress tend to be primary risk factors. After assessing for hormonal imbalances and identifying stressors, I typically use a combination of mindfulness and lifestyle modification, herbs and bioidentical hormones to restore balance of hormones and reduction in fibroids.

Perimenopause & Menopause

Menopause marks a significant transition in life, characterized by the gradual decline in reproductive hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. This natural phase can bring about a range of symptoms, including hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances. Testosterone levels typically decline during this transition as well, resulting in low energy and libido. I support women through the menopausal transition using bioidentical hormone replacement, supportive natural therapies, diet and lifestyle modifications.
